Matias Aguayo, some will remember his name better by mentioning Closer Music`s epic track "one two three (no gravity)", is about to finally come back to Europe after touring and living in South America for the last seven month. He delivered a new and fresh DJ-mix that we have put online for you. It has been recorded in Medellin, Colombia, during Medelink festival.

Coma are Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad, both in their midtwenties. They are the long awaited rush of fresh air in the streets of cologne and in the clubs worldwide. They combine pop and rave, techno and rock in a very unique, subtile and elegant way. Coma are new rave and old-school techno, 80s pop and 2k-modernity in a deep hug. Coma gives the right answer to the wrong hypes and new influences, voices and feelings to electronic dance music from Germany. Their highly acclaimed breakthrough was in November 2007 @ Total Confusion in Cologne where they convinced with a brilliant live show between two DJ-Sets. Their debut 12“ on Firm (KOMPAKT) is played on heavy rotation by German Techno DJs like Tobias Thomas, Sascha Funke and Superpitcher. Live on stage Marius and Georg appear with laptop, guitar, synthesizer and microphone. They found their individual way to break the barriers between club culture and live concerts, techno and pop. With their likeable naive performance they know intuitionally how to make people leave with a smile on their faces.

Gaining massive attention with his first releases on his own label DEEP VIBES RECORDINGS last year we actually can not imagine you could have missed him - for one simple reason: his deeply driven house beats continued to be featured in charts and play lists in every edition of almost every magazine. Behind the decks SASCHA DIVE plays a versatile selection of music that also reflects his outstanding knowledge of late 80`s to today`s house music. Now it will be re-released on INNERVISIONS as a feature of the new SECRET WEAPONS PT. 2 in two weeks. You`ll also hear it in the mix on ALLEN ALIEN`s new mix for BPitch Conrol`s 4th edition of their BOOGY BYTES series.



Furthermore 2008 seems to become the year of final break-through: WATERGATE, Berlin offered him to host an own night three times a year. Also a his first RATIO?NIGHT in Munich`s DIE REGISTRATUR got confirmed for March. HIVE CLUB in Zurich confirmed recently a residency, as well as for MONZA-IBIZA !

Today Coachella festival, one of the world's leading festivals, announced the 2008 lineup and now it is officail: THE FIELD will be playing there on Sunday, April 27th!

Finally Pitchfork published their annual review of the year's 50 best albums and tracks. We're proud to let you know that THE FIELD is on 9th place of the best album top 50 and on 19th of best track !
Another happy winner here is GUI BORATTO. His track "Beautiful Life" made it on 24th place of the top 100 best tracks of 2007.

Another great news just came in: Justus Köhncke's upcoming long player SAVE AND SOUND will be ALBUM OF THE ISSUE in January's edition of DJ MAGAZIN. Not many labels established in the 90s have managed to achieve a consistent advancement without alinieting from their roots. Even less labels have accomplished to create a true brand thanks to a very own aesthetic of sound and artwork that are loved and respected by Djs and producers around the globe.
Sender Records is one of these labels. Being brought on the air by Benno Blome in Cologne in 1999, it has 69 catalogue numbers so far, presenting oldschool legends like A Guy Called Gerald or Baby Ford, Rave-Pro´s like Misc. and Jake Fairley or young talented artists like Bloody Mary and Andre Crom.

Michael Mayer’s uber-cool Kompakt label have announced a London residency at East London clubbing institution Plastic People, in association with whizkids Allez-Allez. Wednesday nights will never be the same again, as the imprint transports its up-to-the-minute acts and DJs over to bring a little rhythm and funk to our midweek evenings.

After a successful jump off in June, when Kompakt imported one of their most interesting new signings and DJmag favourites, The Field, to do their triumphant techno shoe-gazing thing live, subsequent killer shows from the likes of Brazilian dancefloor god Gui Boratto and Matia Aguayo have convinced the label and Allez-Allez that hooking up with Plastic People for a regular monthly showcase is definitely a good idea.

“Plastic People, Allez-Allez and Kompakt are more than just three good reasons to go out on a Wednesday night,” opined Michael Mayer. “There's all we need — intimacy, cold drinks and a great soundsystem. It’s the perfect framework for deep, wild and sexy Kompakt parties!”

Es gehört schon eine gesunde Portion Selbstbewußtsein dazu, ein Debütalbum
»White Album« zu betiteln. Zu viele pophistorische Assoziationsfallen öffnen
sich, die Gefahr, sich in Querverweisen und Referenzhöllen zu verfangen,
erscheint unumgänglich. Diese Dreistigkeit ist im Fall des von Jens-Uwe
Beyer initiierten Projekts Popnoname jedoch durchaus schlüssig. Der
Projektname legt es bereits nahe: Es scheint Beyer ein Bedürfnis zu sein,
den personifizierten Auteurbegriff hinter einer scheinbar uncodierten
Leerstelle verschwinden zu lassen, die Musik als reine
Assoziationsoberfläche zur Verfügung zu stellen. Umso mehr erstaunt es, wenn
die Abstraktheit dieses Konzepts sich im Laufe der zehn Tracks elegant
entfaltet und dabei Momente von atemberaubender emotionaler Dichte
entstehen. Dabei sind die Ausgangspunkte des Werks jederzeit spürbar: die
Lust an melancholischen Melodiebögen des New Wave sowie der schwebende
Minimalismus der Kölner Schule. Nicht umsonst gehören Popnoname-Tracks
regelmäßig zu den Höhepunkten der großartigen »Pop Ambient«-Reihe des
Kompakt-Labels; die hier vertretenen Meisterwerke »Jasminstrauch« und der
flächendeckende Epilog »Taken« legen davon beeindruckend Zeugnis ab. Immer
wieder ergeben sich Leerstellen von eigenartiger Schönheit, in denen die
Songs im Fallen begriffen sind, sich zittrig zwischen Dancefloor und
ambienten Soundscapes bewegen. Diese Momente semantischer Unklarheit, wie im
großartigen Opener »No Doubt«, der als sanfter Ambient-Pop beginnt und sich

Greetings all,

Having been through every selection of coffee beans that South American has to offer, Matias Aguayo is back and set to hit Europe in early May.
We all remember well his endearing full length "Are You Really Lost", without any doubt a highlight for KOMPAKT back in 2005. Above and beyond, together with Markus Rossknecht as Aguayo's side project BROKE 12" releases aren't forgotten commodies in any DJ's record case and even “Haute Couture” mastermind Karl Lagerfeld picked Aguayo's "Voice" for his recently released compilation of favourite tracks.

So after a 6+ month leave from performing in Europe, a recent 12" collaboration with Superpitcher (and as Broke) on KOMPAKT's Speicher imprint AND a Soul Jazz 12" coming around the bend, it's more than fair enough reason to bring them back. Get in touch as dates are sure to fill up quick!
